The entire Ayurveda story is based on five elements ━ Space (Akasa), Air (Vayu), Fire (Tejas), Water (Jala), and Earth (Prithvi). Without these elements, survival is not possible.
Every element has its own meaning and reason for existence. Everything that exists occupies space; the air we breathe is wind, fire or sun are indispensable components for life, like water and earth. The entire universe is a combination of these elements in different proportions.
Humans are made up of three doshas that are made out of these five elements: Space, Air, Fire, Water, Earth
- Vata – a blend of space and air
- Pitta – a blend of fire and water
- Kapha – a blend of water and earth
Ayurveda says these (Vata, Pitta, and Kapha) are three basic building blocks of our body responsible for improving our health. So it is essential to maintain the balance between these three doshas. Following the appropriate and regular routine can help balance the bio-energies of Vata, Pitta, and Kapha.
These elements become weak when the disease takes hold of our bodies. At this time, Panchakarma cleanses therapies are used to reconnect the body with natural Sattvic intelligence, to heal and bring back to vibrant health.
