To all women out there – By Dr.Mini Nair

Have you ever felt bad for being a girl? Have you ever thought that cooking and homemaking are not what you are made for? Did you find any differences in the way men and women are treated in the society? If yes, then go ahead!
In childhood days, all kids be it a boy or girl have only one goal- to play carefree all the time. They love to run around, climb trees, laugh out loud and make friends all the while. This in turn led them to be more healthy and energetic.

But,as years roll by,the life of a girl changes manifolds. Right from attaining puberty, she will be made to follow new restrictions. And, will also be made to do only household related work. It includes cleaning the house, helping elders in the family work, cooking and other routine work. This workload becomes too high especially after she gets married. Her responsibilities will get multiplied. She has to learn to survive and thrive in a completely new environment.

How it affects her physical and mental health?

A woman can be observed multitasking all the time. Always juggling from one place to another and doing the chore continuously. Her day starts by waking up the kids and husband, preparing breakfast and lunch, then cleaning the house, washing clothes and some women go to work as well traveling hours and hours.By taking care of all the members of the family,She stops taking care of herself. She does not get time to sit and relax and reflect on her life as there will be one need or the other.

Thus, her health takes a back seat and goes for a toss and the impact of this neglect can be seen years later.
A woman would have forgotten the playfulness she had as a kid. The usual lines heard are ‘no time’ for morning walks, no time for relaxation, no time to read and no time for friends. All of these leads to stress and which disturbs the body’s internal balance. Some women will eat only the left overs of the family and their stomach will be similar to a garbage bin.

This small action can lead to bigger health issues if continued. Some of the common symptoms are constant headaches, stomach upset and sleep disorders. Prolonged stress and carelessness can lead to high blood pressure. One disease uncared will lead to another and thus it progresses. Recent study shows that, the number of diseases that women suffer from because of stress is increasing with each passing year. All of her pent up aggression and negative emotions keeps flaring up .

women-power

This shows up slowly on her children and other family members. Again,as she reaches menopause she finds herself fighting with obesity and loneliness. By mid-age itself, she would have lost contact with her friends and finds herself disconnected from the outer world.

She will start to wallow in self pity when she looks at her old photographs and makes her emotionally vulnerable.
Most Women leave their health to fate. The attitude that “we will face it when it comes” does not hold good in the context of health. Our body does not understand the deadlines, commitment, targets, child’s exams etc,. When the disease strikes with a bigger blow, any effort to restore the health will end up in vain.
With the imbalance in eating, sleeping a woman’s body starts to build up toxins and this makes her weak and ill again and again. Everyone of us should understand that everyone has the right to take a break and take care of themselves.

As owners of this body,we need to take at most care and attention all the time. We deserve care, love, rest and all the fun we had in childhood. If we understand this and take special care then we can look at our old pictures and smile to know that we have aged carefully and gracefully. With proper efforts, all women can live healthily in their 30s,40s and 50s. After all, let’s remember that only a healthy women can create a healthy family and a healthy society.

At Ayurhealing, our Kyguna specialist Dr.Mini Nair gives such women’s a motivating counselling session and gives her empowerment to lead her life happily.

How to know your Dosha in Ayurveda- Dr. Mini Nair

Ayurveda Dosha Types

Vata, pitta and kapha are collectively known as the doshas in Ayurveda. This is one of the most fundamental concepts in the tradition of Ayurvedic treatment. But, have you ever thought, what they are exactly? In short, these doshas are the energetic forces of nature. There are 3 main ayurveda dosha types that can be balanced to maintain the best health possible.

These are the functional principles which help us to understand ourselves better and also the world around us. This article will help you in finding out the doshas which make up your constitution. It will also help in understanding the states of imbalance and other aspects.

Vata, Pitta and Kapha- each one of them is essential to a healthy body. So no one dosha is better than or superior to any of the other. Each of these doshas has a very specific set of roles to play in the human body. So, when these doshas are out of balance, it can be havoc on someone’s health.

Before getting into the specifics of these three doshas, let’s understand their elemental composition and their role in the human body.

In Ayurveda, ether, fire, air, water and earth are the basic building blocks of the material world.

Vata is usually characterized by the mobile nature of Wind energy. Pitta resembles the transformative nature of the fire energy. Kapha reflects the water energy.

All of the doshas contain all five elements. But each of these is predominantly composed of two elements. The mix is as follows: Vata(Air + Ether), Pitta(Fire + Water) and Kapha(Water + Earth).

Ayurveda Doshas explained

These three doshas are usually found in everyone and every other thing. It usually is present in different proportions. These doshas combine to create different climates, different species, different foods and even different individuals of the same species. The ratio of vata, pitta and kapha provides us with a blueprint for a perfect health. This is true for each of us.

This is referred to as our constitution. This garners a significant influence on our mental, physical and emotional character traits. This is also responsible for our unique strengths and vulnerabilities. Everybody should have a knowledge of their Ayurvedic constitution. If you don’t know yours, please consider visiting an Ayurvedic practitioner.

This assessment of both your constitution and the current state of balance will help in future. This will help in getting personalized food and exercise recommendations designed to support you in maintaining optimal health. Ayurhealing, the best Ayurveda hospital in Bangalore helps you in getting familiar with the Doshas.

Check out Dr. Mini Nair speaks about How to know your Dosha in Ayurveda?

Qualitative Nature of the Doshas

Mentioned are the 3 Ayurveda dosha types. Each dosha has a collection of qualities. They are as follows:

Dosha Qualities

  • Vata- Dry, Cold, Light, Subtle, Rough, Clear
  • Pitta- Hot, Spreading Sharp, Liquid, Light, Oily
  • Kapha- Heavy, Oily, Slow, Smooth, Cool, Soft, Gross, Dense, Stable, Sticky

These qualities help in balancing the doshas very intuitively. Because, in Ayurveda, like increases like and the opposites balance each other. If anyone of the doshas is aggravated, then we can promote a return to balance by decreasing the influence of that particular dosha’s qualities. At the same time, favoring their opposites. If we know which of the specific qualities are aggravated, then we can focus on pacifying those particular qualities. This can be done by favoring foods, herbs and some experiences which will amplify the opposing energies.

Functionality of Doshas

The three doshas have a unique personality and we will show you the vata, pitta and kapha characteristics. They are determined by their particular combination of elements and qualities. Each dosha naturally governs a few physiological functions:

  • Vata governs Communication and Movement
  • Pitta oversees Transformation and Digestion
  • Kapha oversees Structure, Cohesiveness and Lubrication

While the doshas are present everywhere in nature, they are supportive in understanding the living organisms, particularly ourselves.

Ayurvedic Body Types

As you have found the main Ayurveda dosha types. You can now find how these doshas affect the body.

1. Vata Dosha:

It embodies the energy of movement. Vata is often associated with wind and the air element. It is linked to flexibility and creativity. Vata governs all the movement including the breath, the heart pulsation, muscle contractions, the tissue movements, the cellular mobility. It also governs the communication between the mind and the nervous system.

2. Pitta Dosha:

It represents the transformation energy and is closely aligned with the fire element. In living organisms, pitta is largely liquid form. Pitta is neither mobile nor stable. It spreads like the warmth of a fire and thus permeates its surroundings. It also resembles like the water which flows in the direction of terrain. Pitta is closely related to understanding, intelligence and the digestion of foods. It is also associated with emotions, thoughts and experiences. It also governs nutrition and the metabolism of the human body, the temperature and also the light of understanding.

3. Kapha Dosha:

Kapha lends the structure, the solidity, and the cohesiveness to all things. It is associated primarily with the water and earth elements. It also embodies the watery energies of compassion and love. Kapha hydrates all the cells and systems. It lubricates the joints, also moisturizes the skin. It maintains the immunity level and thus protects the tissues.

Understanding the Doshas in our Life

Remember that we all have innate strengths and gifts in us. Some persistent challenging areas as well. These doshas are a wonderful tool for understanding them both. It is also helpful for correcting and recognizing any of the imbalances in our systems. These doshas shed light on such personal nuances. They guide us in improving our self-awareness and can also help us in understanding the support systems. To understand precisely where it matters the most. So, having a good relationship with each of these 3 doshas will have a transformative impact on our overall health, mindset and well-being. Ayurhealing, Ayurveda treatment in Bangalore focusses to help you understand yourself and your body better.

Imbalances in Doshas

Imbalances in the doshas are caused by unsupportive Ayurveda dosha diet and/or lifestyle choices. Other reasons include stress and emotional trauma. Such disturbances tend to upset or shake the natural state of the internal equilibrium present in one’s constitution. If the doshas become aggravated, it disrupts the body in their own way. Thus, vata, pitta and kapha all are each associated with a particular set of health problems. They bring their own challenges and tendencies towards the disease.

We are all susceptible to an excess of any of the three doshas. We also are predisposed to imbalances in these predominant doshas. So, vata-pitta predominant individuals will usually have vata and pitta imbalances rather than kapha imbalances. This awareness about how the doshas affect our daily life can be very helpful. If you would like to assess your own constitution, your present state of balance, then you can consult Dr.MiniNair, the best ayurvedic doctor in Bangalore. At Ayurhealing Ayurveda And Siddha Hospital in Bangalore, you will get personalized recommendations.

Role of Ayurveda in treating PCOD- Dr. Mini Nair

What is PCOD?

PCOD is the abbreviation of polycystic ovarian disease. Polycystic ovarian disease or syndrome (PCOS) is a relatively common hormonal disorder. This disease causes a number of different changes and symptoms in women at reproductive age. One common symptom among all women with PCOD is an irregularity in their menstrual cycle. Another symptom is the presence of excess male hormones called as androgens. This condition was named so because of the presence of enlarged ovaries with multiple small cysts. Thus named as polycystic ovaries disease. Although most of the women with PCOD have polycystic ovaries, some might not have. PCOD has also been called as the Stein-Leventhal syndrome. It’s better to consult with experts on this disease. Ayurhealing, Ayurveda hospital in Bangalore is known for its expertise in curing many health problems.

Causes of PCOD

Though the exact cause of the polycystic ovarian syndrome is not clear, a number of abnormalities have been found out and documented in women. There is some evidence for a genetic or an inherited cause for PCOD. But still, no specific genetic mutation or transformation has been identified to be the cause for the disease. It has also been shown that the ovaries with PCOD produce excessive amounts of male hormones. This leads to disruptions in the women’s menstrual cycle and results in impaired fertility and related problems.

PCOD is also found to be associated with insulin resistance problem. This refers to an impaired ability to utilize the secreted insulin. This abnormality is also found to be the cause of PCOD.

The presence of small cysts in the ovaries does not conclude the presence of PCOD. And this symptom is not specific to PCOD. Women who do not have PCOD may also have ovarian cysts. Ayurhealing has the best ayurvedic doctor in Bangalore is giving effective treatment for PCOD.

Check out the video – Dr. Mini Nair talks about the Role of Ayurveda in treating PCOD.

Symptoms of PCOD

PCOD leads to disruptions and fluctuations in the menstrual cycle. This typically begins around the onset of the puberty. These Menstrual cycles may be normal at the beginning and later becomes irregular. In some cases, the onset of the menses may be delayed. These menstrual irregularities found in PCOD are also accompanied by a lack of ovulation. And, because of this, the affected women may experience infertility at a later age. Thus, the desire for pregnancy is a factor which prompts many women with PCOD to look for medical attention.

Thus, an increase in the production of androgens by the ovaries in PCOD leads to excess hair growth in the areas suggesting a male pattern. This is also known as hirsutism. One can find thick and pigmented hair growth on the upper lip, around the nipples, chin and also on the lower abdomen area. Excess androgens might also lead to male pattern balding and acne in women.

Because of the reduction or absence in the ovulation, women with PCOD  also have reduced levels progesterone. This hormone is normally produced after the ovulation in the second half of the menstrual cycle. This results in the growth stimulation of the endometrium.

The endometrium is the lining tissue present in the uterus. Thus, this leads to dysfunctional uterine bleeding along with breakthrough bleeding. Thus, an increased stimulation of the endometrium along with the absence of progesterone production is a higher risk factor. This might lead to the development of endometrial hyperplasia and also uterine cancer.

Other symptoms like weight gain, insulin resistance and obesity are also common in PCOD. About one-half of women with PCOD are obese. This is partly because of the Insulin resistance which is accompanied by elevated blood levels.

Women with PCOD are also found to have an increased risk of developing type 2 diabetes. Many studies have also shown abnormal blood lipid levels. Elevated levels of C-reactive protein is also a predictor of the coronary artery disease. Thus, the combination of elevated CRP levels, elevated cholesterol levels suggest an increased risk of heart disease on women with PCOD. But, this result is yet to be scientifically established. Ayurveda treatment in Bangalore for PCOD is common amongst many patients.

Which metal is best for utensils, used to cook food- Dr. Mini Nair

Cooking in vessels of ancient metals has been a long tradition. It has been a significant part of life in any Indian household.

The utensils used for cooking can impact the health of a person. Each type of utensil has their own merits and demerits. Many different types of utensils are available in the market today like aluminum, steel, copper and bronze. This article will help you in understanding the benefits and effects of using them. People prefer other country utensils because of their aesthetic look and other reasons. The article will focus more on the older traditions, ayurvedic practices and health benefits of using old vessels for cooking. Also, you will understand the old style cooking benefits once you finish reading this.

First let’s think of what are the kind of pans, pots that are living in your kitchen cupboards? One general point is that any cooking utensil should be solid or tough enough. It should be made of inert substances which do not chip, peel, dissolve, crack, vaporize or promote the growth of bacteria. Also, it should be able to sustain different climate and temperatures to some extent. One should be able to clean thoroughly the utensil without much difficulty. It’s good if the utensil is aesthetically attractive as well. There is no one substance which seems to fit an ideal criteria. Ancient science has given immense importance to metals like copper, silver and bronze. It can be used in our daily life in the form of cookware and for eating or drinking purposes.

Copper Vessels Benefits

The latest research suggests that using copper vessels can a better choice for cooking utensil than a stainless steel. As per the reports from a group of researchers, using copper pots is found to lower the risk of any spread of infection from potentially harmful bacterias. And there is a slim possibility of leaching metals. This is the best-known metal for cooking rice in terms of preserving the freshness.

Why should Copper be preferred over Stainless steel vessels? Steel cookware is used throughout the world mainly because of its perceived hygienic properties. A closer look at the metal reveals that the scratches and marks on the surface are like valleys. And pathogens find it easy to get into these crevices. Rubbing with a cloth or brushing the areas may not be sufficient enough to get these bacteria out.

Experiments have reported that some bacteria were able to survive for 34 days on stainless steel and just four hours on copper vessels. One other Copper Vessel benefits are that it is found to be both a toxic heavy metal and also a mineral that is beneficial to good health. Nutritionists have agreed that most diets have enough copper to prevent any deficiency and also not more to cause toxicity. A healthy human liver has a capacity to excrete a considerable amount of copper and very rare cases of chronic copper poisoning has been reported. But, make sure to line the cooking surfaces with stainless steel or tin.

Silverware Utensils Benefits

For more than thousands of years, silverware utensils have been used not only for cooking but also as a healing agent. Silverware is the most preferred cookware of civilizations all over the world. It has preservative, medical and restorative powers. Proof of this can be traced back as far as the ancient Roman and Greek Empires. This tradition has been followed even before the development of the modern medicine. Silverware utensils benefits can be seen in the form of germicides.

The Greeks have always used silver vessels to keep any liquids and water stay fresh for longer periods of time. History shows that the Roman Empire used to store wine in silver urns to prevent any spoilage or bacterial growth. Also, silverware have protected the people from the full growth of the plague. Disease-causing pathogens will not be able to survive in the presence of silver. Thus, silver utensils are mainly used in dishware, eating utensils and drinking vessels. It can be noted that the wealthy people ate and stored their food in silver vessels to prevent bacterial growth.

In Ayurvedic medicine and treatment, silver was used in very small amounts as a tonic. This acts as an elixir and a rejuvenating agent for people affected by age or any disease. It can also be seen that if silver or copper coins are placed in casks of drinking water, it helps in keeping the water safe from algae, bacteria, etc. Silverware is good for people who have excessive thirst and dizziness. The utensils made of silver calm down body inflammation and also increases sperm count. There are several Ayurvedic treatments in Bangalore which use these traditional vessels and metals for curing any diseases.

Benefits of Bronze Vessels

Cooking in the right type of vessels can actually make you happier and healthier. This is one of the ancient metals used for cooking. But, it is rarely followed these days. It offers a lot of benefits. Cooking in bronze vessels helps in pacifying Vata and pitta. Some symptoms of this include dry skin, irritability, and nervous temperament. Bronze utensils cooked food helps in reducing obesity, maintain a good skin condition and also improve eyesight. Research has proven bronze to be the best utensil to cook and eat. One demerit is that you cannot use ghee in any bronze vessel. It’s shown that bronze cookware can enhance memory. Hence it is recommended for those who have Alzheimer’s disease.

Bronze vessels are preferred for their excellent heat conductivity as well. Modern living has turned us towards the more convenient glass, steel, and non-stick cookware. But, the old-school utensils like bronze hold therapeutic benefits. The steel and glass utensils are fairly neutral. Non-stick pans and glassware are always coated with some chemicals which could be detrimental to skin and body health. Bronze cooking utensils are good conductors of heat. Thus, it lets the food to get cooked uniformly.

You can try to incorporate some pure metal cookware in your kitchen replacing a few of the unhealthy ones. This will surely help in boosting longevity and health. Health benefits of old vessels especially Bronze utensils include that they are not hazardous to any average person. But, some of the metal vessels have leaching effects which affect the human immune system. At Ayurhealing, Ayurveda hospital in Bangalore we not only provide you with health tips but also various treatments. They encourage people to follow this tradition of using bronze vessels for cooking. Health Benefits of Autophagy- Dr. Mini Nair

What is Autophagy or Intermittent Fasting?

Throughout the history of mankind and the evolution, fasting has been a reliable and efficient way of maintaining health and also used for healing purposes and there are health benefits of autophagy or fasting. This holds true for virtually every region of the earth and also all parts of the world. The formal roots of this healing tradition are supposed to lie in the subcellular cleansing process named as autophagy. This is being unraveled by science just now. There are a lot of autophagy benefits for both body and brain. Autophagy is considered to be one of the most conserved pathways found to exist evolutionarily, and it can also be seen in most of the multi-cellular organisms and even in many single-celled organisms. Autophagy generally refers to the natural body’s response to a lack of food (commonly called fasting) which stimulates a better degradation pathway of the subcellular components inside the body. Thus, Ayurveda treatment has fasting as one of its core methods to make the healing.

Mechanism of  Autophagy and Fasting

By digesting and degrading its own parts, the cells in the body does two things. First, it gets rid of the unnecessary proteins that might have been damaged or malfunctioning, by itself. Secondly, it helps in recycling the amino acid into new and healthy cellular components. This is treated as one of the big misconceptions of the protein turnover mechanism. It is assumed that these new broken down proteins will be just flushed out of the body, even though they are completely malnourished. This leads to the myth that Fasting will burn muscle. And, so people either start to eat too much to avoid dying of exhaustion or them fast to burn the muscles.

But the reality is that our bodies are very intelligent in handling the newly created proteins. Once the old proteins are degraded into their respective component amino acids, the body will decide whether to flush these proteins out into the kidneys in the form of waste products or to retain them to make new proteins. It is well known that Proteins are made up of lots of smaller building blocks known as amino acids. It looks like a Lego block. So, it is possible to break down the old and unhealthy weirdly shaped Lego block to build a newer and fresher one using the same blocks. This can be made to happen in our bodies too We can break down the unhealthy old proteins into smaller component amino acids or smaller molecules and then use them to rebuild active and newer functional proteins.

Check out the video – Dr. Mini Nair talks about Autophagy Benefits

Autophagy Benefits

Intermittent fasting also termed as Autophagy, the practice of abstaining from food for some period of time provides many health benefits. In general, it can help to prevent heart disease, speeding up the fat loss, and also aids in slow or decrease the body from aging fast. Other benefits include:

●     Lower Insulin leads to greater Fat Loss

A number of physiological mechanisms are involved in this process. Autophagy reduces the inflammation and the oxidative stress inside of the body, leading to increasing the numbers and the quality of the mitochondria. And this is the overall benefit of the cellular self-cleaning process. Thus, autophagy and diabetes disease prevention go hand in hand. All the benefits of autophagy start to happen because of the lower levels of insulin and in controlled levels.

The Insulin helps in promoting energy storage and also the growth of the organism. But, when the insulin levels are increased, fat gets stored as fat cells, and then the other cells start to take up glucose and other nutrients from the blood. So, when the insulin is increased, the lipids cannot leave the fat cells and making the body worse.

●     Autophagy- an emerging Anti-aging mechanism

It can be observed that many of the anti-aging effects that happen by calorie restriction and the intermittent fasting happen because of the increase in the autophagy process.

A high rate of autophagy is one of the main characteristics of young organisms. With time and aging, the autophagy mechanism decreases which results in cellular damage to accumulate. Thus, by fasting intermittently, the autophagy rates can be made to reset to that of a healthier younger person. Aging is just the accumulation of cell damages. When we age, we can no longer be able to recycle the damage as quickly. Thus, the constituent of the cell turnover decreases. Thus, when aging autophagy is followed, it’s health benefits are enormous.

●     Autophagy promotes Heart health

Heart disease is currently considered to be the world’s biggest killer. It can be seen that the various health markers are linked with either decreased or an increased risk of heart disease. A regular practice of Intermittent fasting has proven to decrease the growth of numerous other risk factors like LDL cholesterol, including blood pressure, blood triglycerides, blood sugar levels and inflammatory markers.

●     Intermittent Fasting helps prevent Cancer

Cancer a terrible disease is caused by the uncontrolled growth of cells. Research and latest test results show that Fasting has several beneficial effects on the bodily metabolism which leads to reduced risk of cancer and other related diseases.

Much of the studies are based on the evidence obtained from animal studies and thus can work for humans as well in most of the cases. Thus, it indicates that the intermittent fasting activity may help prevent cancer. Another evidence based on research done on human cancer patients shows that the fasting reduced various other side effects of chemotherapy. Ayurveda doctors in Bangalore has shown the same results to a lot of patients and highly recommend the same.

●     Intermittent Fasting is Good for your Brain

One of the main benefits of fasting autophagy is that it is good for the body and is thus good for the brain as well. The Intermittent fasting done regularly improves metabolic features which are considered to be important for our brain health ans overcoming brain fog. This also includes reduced levels of oxidative stress, reduced cell inflammation and also a reduction in blood sugar levels. Recent studies in rats have proven that intermittent fasting helps to increase the growth of new nerve cells, that improves the brain functionality.

●     Intermittent Fasting Helps to prevent Alzheimer’s Disease

Alzheimer’s disease is considered to be the world’s most widely found neurodegenerative disease which has no cure available yet. Thus, preventing it from happening in the first place is very critical. A recent study shows that intermittent fasting helps to delay the cause and onset of Alzheimer’s disease and also significantly reduce its severity.

Conclusion

Though, fasting can be done in the comfort of our home. It is best advised to consult with a doctor to know about our body and the correct practice of fasting to get optimal benefits of autophagy. You can visit our Ayurveda hospital in Bangalore, AyurHealing at Koramangala, Bangalore to have a checkup before you start the Autophagy and fasting process.

Home remedies for Facial Pores: Clear face Naturally

How to reduce Facial Pores?

There is a common complaint that is given by people who have oily skin. That is the presence of visible, large open pores on the skin. It is a problem that causes the radiant skin to lose its shine. This leads to a high accumulation of sebum, dead cells, microorganisms and dirt. In this case, the srotas of the skin are easily clogged. The result is the formation of large visible open pores. These open pores are sensitive to touch. They can become tricky to get rid of. If you use wrong skin care products or techniques, the problem will get aggravated. That is why going for an Ayurvedic remedy is a better option. If you are suffering from facial open pores, then this blog post is for you. We give you cool, amazing tips for facial open pores remedies to take care of your skin.

6 Home Remedies for Facial Pores

1. Shrink open pores

Don’t over-cleanse as this can aggravate the oiliness. You need to resist the temptation for this. When you over cleanse the oily skin, it can irritate the surface and aggravate the pitta dosha. The result is more oiliness. Not only water, if you over cleanse your skin with a microfiber cloth, drying wipes or harsh products you will get the same results. When the skin is oily, dead cells and microorganisms get accumulated on the surface. This leads to the enlargement of open pores more. If your skin becomes oily in the middle of the day, then use clean, cold water on your skin and dry it with a clean face towel made of cotton.
Using microfiber based cleaning wipes or cleansing cloths for oily skin is not a good idea. They dry out the skin surface and provoke oil secretion. This makes the skin more prone to open pores.

2. Don’t pick or touch open pores

There are so much dirt and bacteria at our fingertips. This comes due to the use of smartphones, keyboard etc. when you touch your facial skin frequently, the fresh microbes get transferred to your skin and cause breakouts. This results in the enlargement of open pores. To avoid this, you need to keep your keyboards and phones clean and oil free. Using disinfectant for periodic cleaning can help you kill microbes helping your skin stay fresh.

3. Skin health resetting at night

For oily pitta prakriti skin, it is necessary to have a daily night cleansing routine. The skin needs to be cleaned at night and appropriate Ayurvedic facial serum needs to be applied. This can reset your skin’s health every day. Skin resetting also helps in preventing the oil buildup in the srotas. Practicing this regularly helps to bring down the size of open pores. Outside spaces such as offices have a large amount of dirt and microbes in the air conditioning filter and vents. The skin that is exposed to dirt, clogged air helps in absorbing the dirt. This blocks the minor srotas and enlarges open pores. Regular night cleansing removes trapped debris, cleans skin, reduces breakouts and helps shrink open pores.

4. Balanced skin nourishment

Ayurvedic treatment for facial open pores includes providing balanced skin nourishment to shrink open pores. Natural, balanced Ayurvedic facial oil helps in reducing the open pores. Don’t use over the greasy product as they can irritate the skin and upset the balance. It causes more damage than good. There are various skin balancing oils available with Ayurvedic herbs and oils such as neem, clove, vetiver, papaya and Indian sarsaparilla. Excess oil is dried out by this balancer. It also cools the skins and evens out skin tone. The complexion of the skin is brightened with this oil. The oily, pitta prakriti skin will get healed and nourished with this oil. If you use this consistently, it will increase sebum production and reduces the visible open pores.

5. Use a healing Ayurvedic mask

A natural remedy for facial open pores includes the use of a healing Ayurvedic mask. This helps in nurturing and balancing the oily skin. Healing lepas is used in Ayurveda to nourish and rejuvenate various types of skin. A healing lepa can help in skin toning. It nourishes and cleanses the skin deeply. Oily skin is deep cleansed and srotas are freed, making pores look small and invisible to the eye. Face mask needs to be used once a week to cleanse and heal the oily skin. The mask is made of inflammation-reducing Shothahara herbs that include khadira, Arjuna etc. This shrinks open pores, acne and whiteheads. There are also complexion brightening herbs such as cardamom, manjishta and Bilwa. They balance the pitta and helps in healing and deep cleansing the breakout prone oily skin.

6. Internal Balancing of Pitta Dosha

When you follow pitta pacifying methods you can balance the oils in the skin. It includes simple things such as eating at the right time and choosing the right food for your body type. Oily skin problems can reduce with the help of freshly cooked warm foods that are sweet, mild and cool. Foods with sour, sharp, salty or spicy tastes need to be avoided. When you are eating food you need to chew properly. Eat only when hungry. Use of cow ghee is very much recommended. Oily and fried foods need to be consumed less.
